Stephen Pallrand has been interested in the confluence of construction and design since high school when he started working in the building trades while studying with a local architect.

After receiving degrees in Architectural History as well as Studio Art, Stephen was granted a Fellowship at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City to pursue his artistic interest in building three dimensioinal painted installations. Eventually he moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as a set designer in the film industry before he founded the design/build firm, Home Front.  Because of Stephen's background in the arts he wanted a construction firm that was not only composed of artists and artisans, but one which was also forward thinking when it came to design.
